For the final book in this series, this book was great! Iβm going to miss this small-town group of characters, their shenanigans, and the family feel of the community. It has been a great ride and I really hope that Ms. Lagomarsino has more of these great stories to come.
Katka is young but set in her ways already. Her family is crazy and, in your face, so she just wants to live her life on her own terms, but she canβt fight the attraction to Lucas or his cute little girl. She fights it for all sheβs worth, but fate has other plans and Katka has no way of winning over fate.
Lucas is surprised when he is summoned at the front of the police station and finds an older couple there with a little girl that Lucas has no idea about. He finds out that he is a father and now he has to adjust his life to take care of her and he steps up to the plate. The jokester bachelor is a protector at heart and heβs ready to protect this little girl that has no one else.
The Gutshot was a story that brought out all the feelings. Lucas and Katka are great characters, and they are great for each other. I love the characters in this series as well as the other books that came before this series. I have laughed, cried, been angry, and almost had anxiety attacks due to these characters and their fights against fate, and their pain, and the shenanigans they direct at each other as well as the town involvement in some. These books have given me a fun, enjoyable, light read at times, but there have been some heavy reads as well. I will miss these characters, but Ms. Lagomarsino did an awesome job bringing everything together with a great ending to the series. I give this book a 5-star review and look forward to more books by Ms. Lagomarsino, she is a great storyteller.

I read lots of books, from mythology retellings to literary fiction and I love to reread books from childhood, this is a place to voice my thoughts for fun. I also like to ramble about things such as art or nature every now and again.
